Job Role: Art Technician
- Responsible to the Head of Art for technical services to the Art and Design Faculty.
- Ensuring practical needs of teaching staff are met according to school schemes of learning.
- Working with a team of Art Technicians.
- Maintaining all Art equipment.
- Stocktaking of resources to ensure minimum levels.
- Organizing the Art resource room to be accessible and user-friendly.
- Keeping subject knowledge up-to-date and attending relevant training.
- Supporting wider school activities such as open days.
- Participating in faculty meetings to update staff on equipment and ideas.
- Disposing of waste materials responsibly.
- Staying current with health and safety protocols regarding hazardous materials.
- Maintaining stock records and placing orders in accordance with department policy.
- Identifying equipment needs and participating in procurement.
- Organizing and storing equipment per regulations.
- Contributing to the development of practical and technical facilities.
- Maintaining and repairing equipment and facilities.
- Preparing materials and setting up for practical classes.
- Setting up and occasionally demonstrating practical activities.
