Job Description:

We are a thriving secondary school in Merton committed to providing high-quality art education that develops students' artistic talents, visual literacy, and appreciation for the arts. We are looking for a passionate Art Teacher to join our dedicated Art department, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students through engaging lessons and fostering creativity.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and innovative Art lessons tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a supportive environment encouraging students to explore and develop their artistic skills.
  • Teach various Art techniques and media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Introduce students to Art history and contemporary practices.
  • Organise and participate in school exhibitions and art events.
  • Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high teaching standards.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Art, Fine Art, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Art at the secondary level.
  • Good understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Art.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for Art and inspiring students.
