Job Title: Art Teacher
Location: Newham
Salary: £38,766 - £60,092 per annum (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for KS5.
  • Inspire creativity, confidence, and independent thinking through a dynamic and inclusive curriculum.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
  • Contribute to departmental development and enrichment activities such as exhibitions or clubs.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and expression.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular links and school-wide initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Degree in Art or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Art in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage, challenge, and inspire a diverse student body.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
