Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Art with a desire to nurture students' creativity and artistic expression? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving Art department in a sixth form college in Hillingdon.

About the Role:

  • Teach Art at A Level, inspiring and challenging students to deepen their understanding of artistic concepts, techniques, and art history.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Guide and support students in developing their artistic skills and portfolios, preparing them for further study and careers in the creative industries.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including workshops, gallery visits, and critiques, to foster students' creativity and critical thinking skills.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Art curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the college to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Art education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Art and a passion for the visual arts.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Art and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the A Level Art specifications and assessment requirements.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
