Purpose

To deliver accredited learning to Young People undertaking Art study programmes at HMYOI Feltham.

Role Responsibilities

1. Teaching a range of courses as directed, aiming for a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
2. Developing young people-centred teaching, learning, and assessment strategies to enhance retention, achievement, and progression.
3. Following all processes related to qualifications and examinations, including registration, submissions, and liaising with relevant staff and external bodies.
4. Understanding and complying with Shaw Trust Safeguarding Policy and related procedures, ensuring safety, protection, and wellbeing of children and vulnerable groups.

Candidate Requirements

• Occupational competence in Art.
• Relevant teaching or training qualification (e.g., QTS, QTLS, DTTLS, PGCE).
• Possession of A1 Assessor Award (or equivalent).
• Experience teaching and assessing accredited Art qualifications from Entry Level to Level 3.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Interest and knowledge of recent developments in Art qualifications.
