About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Art lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating diverse artistic practices and styles.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that foster creativity, artistic skills, and critical thinking, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Assess student progress through artwork, presentations, and written assessments, providing detailed feedback to support their development and ensure smooth transition mid-year.
  • Contribute to the development of the Art curriculum, integrating current artistic trends and diverse artistic practices, and participate in departmental planning.
  • Organize and lead art exhibitions, workshops, and gallery visits, promoting artistic engagement and expression, adapting to mid-year integration.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Art and Design subject knowledge, including various artistic mediums and techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Art across Key Stages 3-5, with a focus on both practical skills and theoretical understanding.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and artistic skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students, including those joining mid-year.
