What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a genuine passion for art and a commitment to providing high-quality art education. The ideal candidate will be:

  • A qualified teacher (holding QTS or equivalent).
  • Experienced in teaching Art at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Experience teaching Art at Key Stage 5 (A-Level Art, BTEC Art and Design, or similar) is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in a range of art techniques and media, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art.
  • Passionate about art and able to inspire students of all abilities.
  • An excellent classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management skills.
  • Committed to raising student achievement and fostering creativity, critical thinking, and visual literacy.
  • A collaborative team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community, including extra-curricular art activities.
  • Dedicated to their own professional development.
  • A dedicated Art Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Art lessons across the relevant Key Stages.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback, both written and through practical critiques.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating studio environment that promotes creativity, experimentation, and artistic development.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Art and Design department and across the school.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of extra-curricular art activities, such as art clubs, workshops, and exhibitions.
  • Organize and prepare student artwork for displays and exhibitions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
  • Comply with Health and Safety at all times.
