Job summary

Just Teachers Ltd in Barnsley is seeking a passionate Art Teacher to join a thriving secondary school from September 2026 on a full-time supply contract through April 2027, with a clear opportunity to apply for a permanent post thereafter.

You will plan, deliver and assess Art and Photography lessons across KS3 and KS4, foster creativity, collaborate with the creative arts team, and maintain an organised, inspiring classroom that supports every learner.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Art and/or Photography in a UK secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Art & Design at KS3/KS4, including GCSE requirements.
• Experience with Photoshop or similar image editing software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art and Photography lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Inspire students to develop artistic and technical skills using various media and digital platforms.
• Assess and monitor student progress with constructive feedback.
• Maintain an organised, stimulating classroom and studio environment that encourages creativity and respect.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the creative arts department to share best practice and support curriculum development.

Pre‑requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Art and/or Photography within a UK secondary school.

• Experience with digital photography and image editing software (e.g. Photoshop) desirable.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
