This is more than a teaching role - it's a chance to make a real impact on the lives of young people through art, nature, and therapeutic education.

This specialist provision supports children and young people aged 7-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Set in a peaceful, woodland environment, the school takes an outdoor, holistic approach to learning, combining academic teaching with forest school principles and therapeutic support.

As the Art Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver a rich, inclusive and creative art curriculum

  • Use both classroom and outdoor environments to inspire artistic exploration

  • Support emotional regulation and confidence-building through creativity

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including therapeutic and forest school staff

  • Teach small groups (typically 4-6 pupils) with varied and often complex needs

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) - ideally with an Art specialism

  • Experience with SEMH, SEN, or alternative education settings

  • A nurturing, trauma-informed, and resilient approach

  • Passion for outdoor learning, creative arts, and holistic education

  • Strong behaviour management and the ability to build trusting relationships

  • Small, supportive class sizes

  • A calm and therapeutic outdoor setting

  • Emphasis on creativity, mental health, and student wellbeing

  • Extensive CPD and support from a highly experienced team

  • A genuinely rewarding teaching environment

Start Date: September 2025
Location: Warrington
Contract Type: Full-time | Permanent or Long-Term
