About the Role

At this vibrant school, we’re looking for a passionate and skilled Art Teacher to join a dynamic Expressive Arts team. You’ll lead engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 if applicable), helping students explore a range of techniques, media, and art forms — and develop their own artistic voice. The position begins in September 2025.

Duties as an Art Teacher:
  1. Plan and deliver exciting and inclusive art lessons across KS3–KS4 (and KS5 if relevant).
  2. Support students in developing practical skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
  3. Encourage the use of diverse media, techniques, and cultural influences.
  4. Track pupil progress and provide personalised, constructive feedback.
  5. Prepare students for internal assessments and external exams (e.g., GCSE/A-Level Art).
  6. Maintain a safe, stimulating studio environment with effective use of resources.
  7. Organise displays, exhibitions, trips, and extracurricular opportunities to celebrate creativity.
  8. Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school arts events.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A relevant degree in Art, Fine Art, or related subject.
  • A strong portfolio and subject knowledge across various artistic disciplines.
  • An enthusiastic and flexible approach to creative teaching.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire diverse learners.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and the celebration of pupil voice.
  • Experience with exam board assessment frameworks (desirable).
