Job summary

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Art Teacher to join a large, well-established secondary school in the Durham area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident teacher who is looking to take on a leading role within the Art department, supporting the continued development of the subject and helping inspire students to achieve their full potential.

You will deliver engaging Art lessons across the secondary age range, contribute to curriculum planning and schemes

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
  • Significant experience teaching Art within a secondary school is essential.
  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of Art disciplines.
  • Experience taking responsibility or a leading role within a department is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills are expected.
  • A passion for Art and developing students' creativity and confidence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider department.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Responsibilities

  • Take a leading role in the Art department and contribute to its continued development.

The Role

As an experienced Art Teacher, you will be expected to take a proactive role within the department, delivering engaging and challenging Art lessons across the secondary age range.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for an experienced and confident Art Teacher who can demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a proven track record of delivering excellent lessons.

You will ideally have:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Significant experience teaching Art within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of Art disciplines
  • Experience taking responsibility or a leading role within a department is highly desirable
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for Art and for developing students' creativity and confidence
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider department

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
