Job description

A creative and ambitious secondary school in the Huyton area is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Art Teacher to join its vibrant Expressive Arts department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across Key Stage 3 and 4, while delivering high-quality lessons and preparing pupils for GCSE Art & Design examinations.

In this teaching role, classroom presence and management are important, and effective communication is vital for success. Planning, preparing, and marking will be expected, so experience in these areas is essential. Most importantly, you should be confident in your ability to conduct lessons using your subject knowledge and adapt your teaching to students' abilities.

The successful Art Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent essential.
  • A proven track record of teaching Art up to GCSE level, with experience in exam preparation.
  • Strong subject knowledge in both traditional and contemporary art practices.
  • A creative and organized individual with strong classroom management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
