Job description

We are looking to appoint a creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join an expressive arts department. The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging lessons that foster creativity, experimentation, and technical skill across Key Stage 3 and 4.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate art educator to contribute to a vibrant and supportive school community where the arts are valued and celebrated. Beginning June 2025.

Duties as an Art Teacher:

1. Deliver high-quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum and/or exam specifications (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, BTEC).
2. Encourage students to express themselves and explore a wide range of media and artistic techniques.
3. Plan and assess student work regularly, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records of progress.
4. Create a stimulating classroom and display environment that celebrates student work.
5. Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL.
6. Contribute to extra-curricular activities such as clubs, exhibitions, and school events.
7. Maintain an organised and safe working studio environment, including the use and care of materials and equipment.
8. Uphold school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and assessment.
9. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Art and wider Expressive Arts team.

Ideal Art Teacher:

1. Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
2. Have a degree in Art, Fine Art, Design, or a related subject.
3. Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for visual arts education.
4. Be committed to high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
5. Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills as an Art Teacher.
6. Be an enthusiastic, reflective, and innovative practitioner.
