Overview

Art Teacher – Borough of Lewisham, PRU, immediate start, M1-UPS (dependent on experience). Full-time, Alternative Provision setting.

Are you a creative and resilient Art Teacher with experience in PRUs or with students who present SEMH and behavioural difficulties? This role is in a Pupil Referral Unit in Lewisham, supporting secondary-aged students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH.
• Work with small groups and use therapeutic approaches to learning.
• Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and support students to re-engage with education in a nurturing and structured environment.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Experience teaching Art to students with SEMH in PRU or similar settings.
• Ability to work in an alternative provision setting and to adapt teaching approaches accordingly.
• Full-Time availability with an immediate start; placement level (M1-UPS) dependent on experience.
