Job description

A creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher is required to join an Outstanding girls' school in Barnet for a permanent position commencing in September. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16) to develop their artistic skills, creativity, and appreciation of visual culture.

Responsibilities

  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art lessons covering a range of artistic disciplines and techniques to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
  2. Develop students' skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and other art forms.
  3. Foster a stimulating and inclusive studio environment that encourages experimentation and personal expression.
  4. Assess and monitor student progress in Art, providing constructive feedback to support their artistic journey.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Art and Design.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Art lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • A strong knowledge of art history, theory, and practical techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring a passion for art in students.
