A fine art publishing company is seeking an Art Publisher to grow their collection of fine art prints and limited editions. The ideal candidate will have robust connections in the art world and at least 3 years of curatorial experience. Responsibilities include identifying new artists, managing publishing projects, and collaborating across teams to maintain brand identity. This full-time, permanent role offers a hybrid working arrangement, including on-site work at the Newhaven workshop.
Founded in 1982 by three brothers in a basement flat in Brighton, King & McGaw exists to celebrate art. With forty years of printing and framing experience under our belts, world-leading institutions – such as the V&A, Tate, and National Gallery – stock our products, and we’re proud guardians of prestigious licenses to produce iconic artworks. United by a shared passion for fine art, we’re making it our mission to preserve it for posterity. We conserve rare pieces, we represent emerging artists, and we finance exciting creative bursaries. When people shop with us, artists, their estates, and institutions benefit from sales. We are King & McGaw – we are the destination for fine art prints.
We are recruiting an Art Publisher to join our busy and creative Publishing team, who are responsible for growing and shaping the collection of fine art prints, limited editions and rare posters that we retail on kingandmcgaw.com.
The primary function of the role is to identify artists and image archives to publish on our consumer website, managing the process end to end. The ideal candidate will have strong artworld connections which they can leverage, a deep appreciation for the arts, a strong editorial eye, and the ability to manage multiple publishing projects from inception to completion. This role involves collaborating with artists, designers and marketing to curate, produce and promote artworks. We expect this role to be able to balance commerciality and the K&M brand.
