Job summary

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic art psychotherapist to work one day a week in the community, Brent, for a fixed term of 12 months. You will plan and deliver art therapy assessments and treatments within a mentalization-based programme, joining a diverse arts therapies team and benefiting from supervision and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Essential: autonomous working in mental health settings (group and individual).
• Experience with people with complex emotional needs and challenging behaviours.
• Supervising arts therapists or liaising with training courses.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and develop art psychotherapy assessment and treatment.
• Use mentalisation-based approaches in therapy.
• Contribute to referrals, formulations and care plans.
• Collaborate with MDT and GP colleagues to support risk management.
• Document interventions in health records timely and accurately.
• Embed evaluation with patient-reported outcomes to evidence work.
• Maintain professionalism and boundaries in emotionally intense sessions.
• Ensure regular clinical supervision is utilised.
• Support the Trust’s research strategy for arts therapies.
