We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a passionate and creative Art Psychotherapist to join our team at Ivetsey Bank Hospital. This is a part-time position (7.5 hours per week), ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact through therapeutic arts within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Working closely with our wider clinical team, you will use the power of visual expression to support emotional wellbeing, aid communication, and enhance recovery. What You'll Be Working

This role is part-time, 7.5 hours per week.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Work as part of the therapy team in conducting patient assessments to understand their mental health needs and therapeutic goals.
  • Complete formulations and develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  • Facilitate art therapy sessions using various artistic mediums such as painting, drawing, sand, and/or Lego.
  • Facilitate groups to support emotional regulation through art expression.
  • Interpret clients' artwork to gain insights into their emotional and psychological state.
  • Provide support and psycho-education for parents/carers where necessary.
  • Attend regular MDT/CPA meetings and provide feedback.
  • Undertake clinical supervision following BACP guidelines and participate in line management meetings.
  • Keep accurate patient records and write reports as required.
  • Participate in continued education and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality.

What You'll Have

  • Master's degree in Art Therapy or a related field.
  • BACP/HCPC registration as an Art Psychotherapist (trainees close to registration will be considered).
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in various artistic techniques and materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of psychological theories and therapeutic practices.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and psychological principles.
  • Ability to establish therapeutic rapport with clients.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and social diversity.
  • Professionalism and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
