Job description

How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four?

Our colleagues’ wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we’re always looking for new ways to improve everyone’s work/life balance. We’re taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent).

If the trial is a success, we’ll be rolling the 4DWW out across the Group – so there’s never been a more exciting time to join #teamOFG!

  • Art Instructor
  • Trent Acres, Kings Bromley, DE13 7HR
  • £26,375 per annum
  • 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
  • Permanent; Term-time only

Options Trent Acres is an outstanding independent specialist school providing 141 places for pupils aged 5-19. The school operates across two sites in Staffordshire, offering academic and vocational opportunities in both a rural, 12-acre site and a newly built college setting.

The school is purpose-built, modern, and welcoming, with specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding school and outdoor gymnasium. Pupils have opportunities to work with horses, donkeys, goats, alpacas, and chickens. Learning outside the classroom is fundamental at Trent Acres. Our dedicated staff focus on delivering high-quality, pupil-centered, bespoke packages of care and education.

Our services are within easy reach of Stoke, Derby, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Burton-on-Trent, Tamworth, Uttoxeter, and surrounding towns.

For over 16 years, Options Autism has provided care and education to pupils, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we lead the sector in innovative approaches that deliver measurable outcomes. In 2024, Outcomes First Group was officially certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ for the fifth consecutive year.

Purpose of the Job:

  • To take a leading role in teaching Art.
  • To work with senior leaders to develop the curriculum and teach across qualification pathways within Art.
  • To work under the guidance of SLT to raise the standard of Art across the school.
  • Review, monitor, and adapt curriculum matters to ensure a challenging, engaging, and appropriate Art curriculum is delivered to all.
  • To share the school’s values and ethos to create a highly personalized curriculum that meets individual needs in a nurturing and holistic environment.

Why join Options Autism?

Benefits:

  • Life Assurance
  • Pension scheme with options to increase your contributions
  • “Your Wellbeing Matters” – access to mental health support and health checks

Our Market-leading Benefits Platform, Vista, allows you to choose benefits including:

  • A wide range of health, wellbeing, and insurance benefits
  • Discount options in the UK and abroad
  • Cycle to Work Schemes
  • Electric Car Purchase Scheme
  • Critical illness cover
  • Family Growth Support, including enhanced maternity/paternity leave and paid fertility treatment

We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of pupils and vulnerable young adults. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people. All applicants will undergo social media checks and a fully enhanced DBS.

Note: You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time for personal pursuits. The 4DWW is subject to successful probation and is not a contractual benefit.
