Job summary

Sotheby's in London is seeking a Technician to provide essential support across designated departments, including the safe receipt, unpacking, handling, storage, installation and deinstallation of exhibitions, packing artworks for transport between locations, and coordinating the final release of property.

The role requires a flexible approach due to seasonal business, including overtime and weekends, with support at additional locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle, unpack, store, install and deinstall artworks for exhibitions.
• Support cataloguing and photographer needs for designated departments.
• Lead gallery installations and deinstallations for designated sales and exhibitions.
• Ensure timely preparation of designated sales with clear communication to coordinators and managers.
• Deliver high levels of client service to external clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with external contractors and gallery managers to complete installations/deinstallations on schedule.
• Maintain areas of responsibility to a high standard.
• Conduct biannual stock checks for designated departments.
• Ensure all equipment is tested and complies with Health & Safety regulations.
