Great opportunity for Artists, Art Graduates, Art Therapists or those with an Art A Level/GCSE!

Tradewind are currently recruiting for an experienced Artist, Art Graduate, Art Therapist or someone with a keen interest in Art, to work as a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The secondary school, based in Uxbridge, is looking for an enthusiastic team player who is keen to inspire young learners by providing and supporting high quality teaching and enjoyable lessons. You will have a desire for working with young people and be looking to make a real difference. This would be a full-time role and would be perfect for somebody that is looking to be an Art Teacher in future, wants to gain experience working with children or is looking for a career in the creative sector. After you are settled into your role as a Teaching Assistant, there could also be opportunities to support in the Art department.

This role would involve:

  • Supporting the class teacher in the delivery of lessons
  • Organising and collecting resources for the lessons
  • Supporting children with special educational needs
  • Deliver interventions, including those that are art-based
  • Use enthusiasm to encourage children to become involved in lessons

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A recent university graduate (art or english graduate specialism preferred)
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g., in a school, youth group, tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) - formal or informal.
