Job description

Go back Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Art/Drama/Music Psychotherapist

The closing date is 13 July 2025

Hopewood Hospital in Sherwood, Nottingham has 32 beds across 3 wards and is based on site with an education facility for our inpatients, a CAMHS community base with specialist teams and both inpatient and community perinatal teams.

Hercules, Pegasus and Phoenix Ward have an exciting opportunity for an experienced art, music or drama therapist to join our established Multi-Disciplinary Teams.

Pegasus Ward is a specialist eating disorder ward. Family based treatment is integral to the treatment and recovery of young people with eating disorders and families and carers are encouraged to be fully involved in their care; there are therefore opportunities for staff to be involved in family work as well as individual & group work with the young people.

Hercules Ward is an 8 bedded PICU that works with young people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems. We work closely with families and a full MDT to ensure positive outcomes for young people and we encourage staff to be fully involved in patients care and participate in both group and 1:1 work.

Phoenix Ward is a busy 12 bedded general acute ward providing highly specialist services, 7 days a week, to young people aged 13 to 18 who are experiencing a range of mental health and emotional difficulties. We have a large MDT and opportunity to ensure a wide range of therapeutic intervention.

Main duties of the job

The post holder would offer arts therapy (art, music or drama therapy) to individuals and groups on a referrals basis, working closely with a dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team. The role includes undertaking assessments and interventions for young people with a range of needs including Eating Disorders, Psychosis, and Trauma.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker Visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa can determine the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship against the relevant criteria here https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa
