Teacher of Art & Design

(Suitable for Early Career Teachers or more experienced teachers )

Pay Range: Teachers Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Scale

Actual Salary from: 31,650 to 49,084 per year

Start Date: July or September 2025

This school is a high performing, over-subscribed 11-16 comprehensive school with just under 800 students (capacity 840), situated to the south of Colchester. It is the "most improved school in Essex" (Essex LA September 2016). It serves a diverse catchment area including Old Heath, Monkwick, Shrub End and the villages to the south of Colchester including the community of Mersea Island.

The Role

Colchester based school are seeking to appoint a dynamic, motivated teacher in Art to join their team from July or September 2025:

As a Teacher, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Teach your subject with an enthusiasm
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons
  • Assess and provide feedback
  • Provide care, guidance and support to our young people.
  • A willingness to keep up to date with subject knowledge & pedagogy;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with both adults and children;
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload;
  • A positive, helpful and courteous manner when carrying out your professional duties.
