Overview

Reed FE are working with a College in Lincolnshire and are seeking an Art & Design Lecturer, on a temporary basis, to use their expertise to coordinate and teach an art course, nurturing the next generation of artists. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment, and offers the opportunity to innovate within the Art & Design curriculum.

Day-to-day of the role
  • Coordinate and develop courses within the community Art & Design provision.
  • Teach Level 2 and Level 3 learners, covering a broad range of Art & Design skills including both 2D and 3D practices.
  • Occasionally cover lessons within the College course.
  • Utilise a variety of materials, techniques, and processes in teaching.
  • Engage in curriculum development to meet the evolving needs of the college and its community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Art & Design; vocational qualifications and experience also considered.
  • PGCE, PTTLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent teaching qualification, or willingness to undertake this training.
  • Level 2 or equivalent in Literacy and Numeracy, or willingness to achieve this.
  • Strong ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Effective team player and capable of working independently.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in using online platforms for communication, management, and resource creation, or willing to develop these skills.
  • Appropriate digital skills to support outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment, or willingness to engage in development.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Industry experience and/or previous teaching experience.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to creating a safe learning environment.
  • Awareness of the importance of Equality & Diversity.
