Job description

Connexus PCN is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated ARRS GP to support the 5 practices on a rotational basis, working across only 2 sites at any one time. This role is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified GP (less than 2 years qualified) to gain experience across different practices whilst having the security, support, and benefits of a salaried role.

Main duties of the job

In accordance with the Practice session timetable, the successful applicant will be available to undertake a variety of duties including on-site and telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with lab results, queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence in a timely fashion.

The successful candidate will also support or lead on duty sessions, assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, prescribe in accordance with the BNSSG and Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate, support other staff such as GP trainees, PCN allied staff, ANPs, and nurses with clinical queries, and participate in proportionally shared Enhanced Access (EA) hours (to be discussed) along with other clinicians within the business.

About us

Connexus Primary Care Network brings together five GP Practices serving 50,000 patients in the Brislington, St Annes, Knowle, Totterdown, and Stockwood areas of South Bristol. The PCN is located within South Bristol locality of the BNSSG Integrated Care Board and employs a small team of staff responsible for delivering a range of clinical services under contract with NHS England. We currently employ Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Clerks, who work closely with Practice-employed Pharmacists, GPs, and medicines management leads to ensure the provision of high-quality clinical services. We have a prescription hub, a primary care pain clinic, and many other collaborative projects across the 5 practices.
