Job summary

North Watford PCN is recruiting a fully qualified GP with GMC registration to join a forward-thinking primary care network in Watford. Following ARRS changes, the post offers an autonomous role within a supportive team of clinicians.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality medical care in a busy primary care setting, maintain clinical standards, and contribute to audits, with CPD ongoing and strong IT skills (EMIS).

Qualifications

• Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
• MRCGP qualification or equivalent.
• General Practitioner Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
• Experience of working in a primary care environment.
• Experience of continued professional development.
• Experience of QOF and clinical audit.
• Current UK registration and eligibility to practise.

Responsibilities

• Autonomous GP role, assessing, diagnosing and treating patients in a primary care setting.
• Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and maintain clinical excellence.
• Be professionally accountable for all elements of clinical practice in line with GMC guidance.
• Provide counselling and health education.
• Admit or discharge patients and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
• Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
• Collect data for audit purposes.
• Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
• Prescribe in accordance with the ICB formulary when appropriate.

Job summary

North Watford PCN is looking to expand their team by seeking to employ a qualified GP, following the changes to the ARRS scheme to introduce general practitioners.

Main duties of the job

• Performing as an autonomous general practitioner working independently and with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within a primary care setting.
• Providing expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence.
• Being professionally accountable and responsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct ensuring the safety of patients and quality of their care is primary.
• Providing counselling and health education
• Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
• Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
• Collecting data for audit purposes
• Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
• Prescribing in accordance with the ICB prescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate
