Job description

Array Cable Project Engineer - London (with travel to EU) - 11-Month Contract

Do you want to work with a world leader in offshore wind? This opportunity is available for an Array Cable Project Engineer to join our client’s newest project based in London. They are a market leader in offshore wind, owning and developing projects across major and emerging markets, offering excellent career opportunities.

Main responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for the engineering of supply, jointing, termination, and testing of array cables, including connection equipment, in compliance with HVC standards during project maturation and execution.
  2. Lead technical interfaces within the cable package, providing HVC technical input to stakeholders and suppliers.
  3. Ensure internal stakeholder requirements are incorporated into supplier designs.
  4. Evaluate suppliers' technical proposals.
  5. Ensure detailed design certification is signed off.
  6. Review supplier’s engineering documentation or perform independent analyses to verify product design.
  7. Review and approve cable route designs and routing plans.
  8. Provide technical input on project risks, change requests, and claims.
  9. Manage project-specific inspection and testing activities.
  10. Review and approve quality documentation from suppliers.
Minimum requirements:
  1. Deep understanding of HV cable systems, electrical and thermal aspects, and industry standards.
  2. Ability to provide effective technical solutions during project execution.
  3. BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  4. At least 5 years of practical and theoretical experience with high voltage array cables and accessories.
  5. Strong project engineering skills, including integrity, communication, teamwork, and decision-making; experience with Ørsted IT tools is a plus.
