Overview
As a Civil Service Vehicle Technician, you will service and repair all systems within the vehicle including engine and exhaust systems, air brakes, air conditioning and electronics. Work will range from replacing parts, to solving complex faults using diagnostic methods and equipment. With evermore complex technologies, the tasks are constantly changing. As an experienced Vehicle Technician in servicing and maintaining light or heavy vehicles you will continue to develop your trade knowledge on tracked vehicles and specialist artillery specific equipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspection and confirmation sign off regarding Q&A (Quality & Assurance) of critical vehicle systems post repair of own work and that of others within the workshop environment.
- Carry out a variety of maintenance and repair work on various military equipment.
- Visual inspections and care of military vehicles.
- Completion of all relevant documentation.
- Working with experienced System Technicians on more complex and extensive diagnostic and repair tasks.
- Ability to work in a team and as an individual.
- Ensure that appropriate quality standards are achieved and maintained in all aspects of work with the interpretation and application of regulations and conditions where required.
- Comply with regulations published under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 insofar as they apply to the practices and processes carried out at their place of work.
- Carry out all aspects of mandatory training including Information Management Training and JAMES (an asset management tool) Training as required by role.
Requirements
- Experience in servicing and maintaining light or heavy vehicles, with knowledge of engine, exhaust, air brakes, air conditioning and electronics preferred.
- Ability to work in a team and as an individual.
- Commitment to high safety and quality standards in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
- willingness to undertake mandatory training including Information Management Training and JAMES Training as required by role.
