The Information Capability Support Team (ICST) is a centralised digital support hub at the core of Army Headquarters (AHQ), providing first-line assistance for MODNet and enabling smarter, more connected ways of working across the organisation.

ICST is made up of five specialist teams, each delivering essential services to the entire AHQ community:

  • SharePoint Admin Team – Ensures seamless collaboration and content management through expert SharePoint support.
  • Development Team – Champions innovation by designing digital tools and automations that streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Digital Skills & Development Team – Builds digital confidence across AHQ through tailored upskilling and learning opportunities.
  • Security Risk Team – Maintains digital resilience by managing information assurance and mitigating cyber risks.
  • HelpPoint Team – Acts as the first point of contact for MODNet support, resolving issues quickly to keep everyone connected.

Job Description

As a member of the Development Team within the ICST, you will support personnel across Headquarters in designing, building, and implementing smarter working solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform suite—including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. These tools help streamline outdated processes, delivering significant time and cost savings across the organisation.

You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior leadership to contractors and Civil Service colleagues. The team operates in a fast-paced environment that values professionalism, innovation, and a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for end users, reviewing current workflows and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency using Microsoft Power Platform tools.
  • Design, build, test, and implement digital solutions in line with current policy and guidance.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance through regular reviews and updates, ensuring solutions remain effective and user-focused.
  • Offer third-line support for technical queries submitted via ICST HelpPoint, using specialist knowledge and research.
  • Engage in continuous learning through training and collaboration with internal and external Power Platform communities to stay current with best practices and emerging tools.
  • Work closely with the Service Desk Manager, Power Platform community, SharePoint Admin Team, Security Team, O365 Digital Skills Manager, and end users to understand needs and deliver high-quality service.
