Job Title: Armoury Technician
Location: Wyton, Huntingdon
Compensation: £30,819.00 + Benefits

The role

As an Armoury Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary in a dynamic environment with the opportunity to progress, whilst supporting the HADES contract at RAF Wyton.

Day-to-day, you'll work within a team of four, managing the armoury section at RAF Wyton.

  • Inspect, repair, diagnose and maintain MoD weapon systems to Level 1 and 2 in accordance with MoD technical documents.
  • Responsible and accountable for the quality of your own work by signature at inspection, and the completion of associated documentation in support of inspection / repair.
  • Issue and receipt weapons.

This role is full time, 39 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Wyton.

Essential experience of the Armoury Technician

  • Must hold a B class manual UK Driving Licence
  • Must have colour perception CP2 (Not be colour blind). A doctor's note may be required as evidence.
  • Show evidence of demonstrating and performing basic engineering skills at level 3
  • Previously assisted with contracted Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (OME) related activities including issue, receipt, repackaging and the certification of articles as Free From Explosives (CFFE).
  • Extensive experience in a similar role

Qualifications for the Armoury Technician

  • C&G Level 3, ONC or NVQ Level 3 qualification within a related trade
  • ADR Vocational Certificate
  • Specialist with small arms and explosives
  • Hold the RAF Q-W-GDSA or equivalent
  • Q-X-AR Authorised Representative (Explosives)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
