Join Our Team as an ARMOURY STOREKEEPER at Aspire Defence Service Limited (ADSL)

  • Salary: £25,100 per annum, paid on-call allowance (amount to be confirmed), which will take effect following the probation period, plus uniform provided
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week. 24/7 on call rotation required to work overtime as and when units request, including weekends/bank holidays on rotation.

Your Role:

  • Ensure that all items issued are executed in accordance with MoD publications – DLF – JSP440 and company policies, particularly regarding the movement of weapons and ancillary items.
  • Verify that all incoming receipts of weapons and ancillary items are accurately checked and stored. Any discrepancies should be addressed with the Armoury Controller or, in their absence, the Stores Manager.
  • Adhere to MoD & Unit Equipment Care Policies consistently and collaborate with Land Equipment Assurance (LEA) teams during inspections.
  • Support the Armoury Controller in stock checks, maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the armoury and perform all duties related to emergency issues.
  • Provide after-hours support for the armoury.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English.
  • Experience: Be familiar with JSP440 – The Defence Manual of Security, and JSP392 Management of Radiation Protection in Defence. Along with a minimum of 2 years’ service working within an MoD armoury environment.
  • Skills: A dependable and adaptable professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working independently or as part of a team. Thrives under pressure, effectively prioritises tasks, supports colleagues when needed, and consistently meets deadlines. Diligent, well organised, competent in manual work.
  • Driving Licence: Full UK valid driving licence required.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to achieve SC security clearance.
