Job summary

TECHNICAL PLACEMENTS LIMITED in Stockport is seeking HGV Mechanics / Mechanical Fitter Technicians for a day shift role within a global defence business, building and supplying Military Vehicles to the British Army. The team-based environment emphasises safety and quality while supporting career development.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV Mechanic or Mechanical/Electrical Fitter.
• Certifications in HGV mechanics or electrical qualifications.
• Desirable Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance diploma.

Responsibilities

• Final assembly of armoured vehicles and sub-assemblies.
• Fault-finding, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
• Interpret technical drawings and operating instructions.
• Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic and software-related issues.
• Use diagnostic systems and update SAP records.
• Complete tasks to deadlines and maintain housekeeping.
• Order required parts and equipment.
• Support training and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Collaborate with other departments; travel occasionally.
