Job description

Founded over 20 years ago by three entrepreneurial women passionate about beautiful, practical, and comfortable homes, OKA is more than a furniture and homeware retailer; it is a love affair with living well.

We inspire people to confidently create a home that reflects their personality, a space where nothing should be too precious or perfect to be enjoyed with family and friends. British-born, we now have 13 stores across the UK, an established Interior Design and Trade business, a mail-order service, and a thriving website.

We are seeking an experienced full-time Visual Merchandiser to join our growing field-based Visual Merchandising team, based out of our southwest stores (Froxfield, Bath, Bicester, Sunninghill, Marlow).

About Us

We believe the best work is done by people who enjoy their jobs, so we create a fun and nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and can thrive. We are looking for an agile, proactive Area Visual Merchandiser with a positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit to help us nurture this culture.

Working independently and as part of the team, you will ensure that in-store visual merchandising is innovative and aligns with brand positioning, maintaining high standards that consistently exceed our clients’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of brand visual merchandising (VM).
  • Recreate room-sets, displays, and windows with seasonal changes following guidelines; organize supplies of stock, props, materials, and tools.
  • Collaborate across functions and stakeholders to plan effective product range moves within stores, using analysis tools and a commercial mindset.
  • Carry out visual merchandising duties across the Southwest stores, including manual handling of large furniture and product range changes.
  • Perform painting, decorating, and small DIY projects.
  • Assist with new store openings and refits nationally, and support other regions when needed.
  • Continuously evaluate market trends and competitors.
About You
  • At least 2 years’ experience in visual merchandising, preferably within the interiors sector.
  • Experience in retail interior styling is advantageous.
  • Design or interiors qualification desirable.
  • A creative portfolio demonstrating previous successes.
  • Good eye for display and design.
  • Excellent DIY skills (painting, decorating, using power tools) and able to lift heavy furniture.
  • Experience building relationships with Store Managers.
  • Understanding of how VM influences product and brand performance.
  • Strong project management skills, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Confident decision-making, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with support from line management.
  • Positive, flexible attitude.
  • Full, clean driving license and willingness to travel UK-wide, including overnight stays.
  • Passion for the OKA brand.
Our Benefits Package
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • 40-hour week, Monday to Friday.
  • Day off for your birthday.
  • Medi-cash Health Plan.
  • 50% staff discount.
  • Enhanced Maternity Pay.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Discretionary bonus scheme eligibility.
  • Additional benefits: pension scheme, life assurance, free eye tests, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free travel loans, social events, wellbeing centre, and more.

If successful, you will become part of the OKA family, a fast-paced and dynamic business. To apply, please submit your application here.
