Job summary

inspiring vet care is seeking an Area Veterinary Nurse to work across a bespoke network of practices around your home location in the UK. This is a fixed‑term 12‑month contract with potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The role focuses on high‑quality general nursing across multiple sites with travel between practices during the designated region; 40 hours per week across 4 or 5 days, with occasional weekend cover and TOIL for out‑of‑hours work.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Experience working in clinical practice with nursing skills.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Admit and discharge patients for routine procedures and deliver nursing care.
• Run nurse clinics and provide client guidance on care and policies.
• Assist surgeons with procedures, monitoring, diagnostics, and inpatient care.
• Maintain records, dispense prescriptions, and support reception where needed.
• Ensure SOPs, safety and infection control procedures are followed.
• Maintain cleanliness, equipment care, stock control and waste disposal.
• Support Student Veterinary Nurses and carry out Schedule Three procedures where trained.
• Participate in rota, stock takes, and general practice support.
