Our team of Planning Officers and Technical/Administrative Support Staff work hand-in-hand to ensure that every development respects and enhances the unique qualities of our built and natural environment.

As a Team Manager, you will lead a dedicated group of planners and enforcement officers. While you won't carry a caseload, your role will be pivotal in supporting and managing the team to achieve performance targets and drive excellence.

We need a highly motivated individual with exceptional leadership skills and a passion for creating great places. If you're ready to make a significant impact and lead a team towards success, we want to hear from you.

Apply now and be part of something extraordinary.

We do things well and keep developing.

Over the past year, our team has worked tirelessly to elevate our performance, and we are proud to say we are now a high-performing team. We are seeking individuals who share our passion for best practices in every aspect of our work and are dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service.

At our core, we are a values-based organisation united by a common goal: “Making Teignbridge a healthy and desirable place where people want to live, work, and visit.” We achieve this by taking personal ownership of the quality of our work, fostering strong relationships, and continuously driving improvements in our services.

If you are motivated, enthusiastic, and ready to make a real impact, we want you to join us on this exciting journey. Together, we can create a brighter future for Teignbridge.

We’re better together.

Serving a growing community of around 134,800 residents, and a thriving tourist population, Teignbridge District Council is a forward-thinking authority with a firm focus on what’s truly needed in the long term. Our ‘One Teignbridge’ plan sets out how we will be working together with our communities, business and partners for a better future.

We are an equal opportunities employer committed to a diverse and inclusive organisation. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of their age, caring responsibilities, disability, gender/sex, gender reassignment/trans status, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation and socio-economic status. We also welcome applications from military veterans and their families.

  • Have extensive Development Management experience including rural and large-scale urban projects.
  • Have excellent people skills and experience of performance management.
