Position: Gas Qualified Area Supervisor

We are seeking a gas qualified area supervisor to join our busy heating service & repair team.

Overview of Role

This pivotal role contributes to the delivery of efficient heating system surveys and installations for our clients. The individual will conduct in-depth assessments of domestic properties, ensuring all heating solutions meet regulatory standards and align with customer needs and budgets. The role requires technical expertise, customer service skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

1. Manage day-to-day operations of operatives, providing technical support, encouragement, and training to ensure a set volume of completed jobs per week, including during on-call periods.
2. Provide a technical section during monthly toolbox meetings, sharing updates and addressing issues identified in quality checks.
3. Promote quality of work and professional attitudes, fostering employee development, good relations, team-building, and adherence to quality standards.
4. Become a key client contact to develop relationships, resolve problematic jobs, attend site visits, and provide technical overviews.
5. Ensure contractual and specific client requirements are met or exceeded.
6. Communicate company procedures and client requirements to operatives through daily contact and structured monthly toolbox talks.
7. Support regional management with training and technical support for existing and new engineers.
8. Coordinate with the SHEQ team to communicate updates, maintain records, and identify training needs, ensuring engineers participate in competence evidence collection.
9. Perform quality checks and safety audits to pre-determined targets.
10. Cover regional management duties when required.
11. Assist in disciplinary and grievance investigations as needed.

Required Attributes

• Relevant industry qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation or equivalent.
• ACS accreditations, including CCN1 and CENWAT, or equivalent (preferable).
• Practical experience in heating system surveys or domestic installation projects.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with proven reporting accuracy.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Full UK driving license.
