Responsible to: Account Manager
Overview: Flexible Area Supervisor supporting Account Managers in delivering allocated PSS contracts.
Key duties:
- Providing support services on client sites, including:
- Assisting Regional and Account Managers with holiday and sickness cover for smooth contract operations;
- Conducting site spot checks to ensure staff have necessary equipment, uniforms, and consumables;
- Reporting delivery issues or service shortfalls to the Regional and Account Manager;
- Assisting in monthly site audits, providing copies to clients, and giving feedback to staff;
- Supporting staff in understanding content in the site Bible folder;
- Advising on updates to the site Bible, including RAMS, SSOW, COSHH sheets, etc.;
- Monitoring Health and Safety, including toolbox talks, online training, and inductions; reporting accidents or near misses as per Pareto procedures;
- Advising on portable appliance testing as required;
- Monitoring Smart task usage, ensuring proper booking procedures, and supporting team usage;
- Performing any reasonable management requests.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Previous supervisory experience in multi-site environments;
- Time management and computer literacy essential;
- Driving license required;
- Experience with cleaning machines (buffers, scrubber dryers, I-mops) beneficial;
- Vocational/Technical Skills: IOSH certification minimum, awareness of Health & Safety issues, good IT skills (Microsoft Office), relevant NVQ in FM preferred.
The candidate should have experience in soft services, ideally cleaning, including specialist cleaning, preferably within FM. Interpersonal skills are vital for client interactions at all levels, requiring tact and diplomacy.
Responsibilities:
- Human Resource Management: Supervising and checking work quality of less experienced staff;
- Physical Resource Management: Caring for tools and equipment, whether client or Pareto property;
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding all Pareto and client matters;
- Communication: Internal and external, including liaising with contractors and visitors;
- Liaison: Ensuring positive client interactions, influencing operational efficiency;
- Mental Demands: Applying judgment, decision-making, problem-solving;
- Concentration: High focus required, especially when working with machinery and adhering to safety guidelines;
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours due to business needs.
