Job Description:

Amazon Corporate Security is seeking an experienced, self-motivated security leader who embodies Amazon’s Leadership Principles such as Customer Obsession, Ownership, Earn Trust, and Bias for Action. The role is for an Area Security Manager in London, reporting to a Regional Security Manager and overseeing security at multiple sites.

The responsibilities include implementing security programs, conducting assessments, managing incidents, providing security consultancy, and developing security plans to address gaps. The role involves managing security operations, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with security standards across various locations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver security services to ensure safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Manage daily security operations across diverse sites.
  • Act as a trusted security advisor with excellent communication skills.
  • Develop and improve security policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate incident response and address security concerns.
  • Monitor threats and implement risk mitigation measures.
  • Align security metrics and goals with organizational strategy.
  • Engage with stakeholders and external partners.
  • Collaborate with other security functions to share best practices.

About the team:

The Global Corporate Security team manages security operations worldwide, divided into regions led by regional heads, working together to protect Amazon's people and assets.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years in security within a large or global organization, including managerial experience.
  • Experience managing service providers and vendors.
  • Knowledge of security operations, risk management, and crisis communication.
  • Experience in developing security standards and procedures.
  • Skills in training, incident investigation, project management, and contract management.
  • Fluent in English, with clear communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications.
  • Experience in corporate security for large companies.
  • Understanding of crisis operations and risk management.
  • Knowledge of legal contracts and budgeting.
  • Experience with physical security technologies.
  • Proficiency in developing security metrics and trend analysis.
