Job Title: Business Development Manager Timber Windows

Area to be covered: South West (Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire)

The role of the Area Sales Manager for Timber Windows will involve:

  • Field sales role selling a manufactured range of timber windows
  • Predominantly selling into builders merchants, with some activity with regional housebuilders
  • Expanding the client's established offering of staircase products and windows
  • Leveraging relationships with buying groups and national builders
  • Typically 16 builder merchant customer visits per week
  • Growing the customer base by onboarding new builder merchant accounts
  • Targeting 30% growth
  • Identifying, targeting, and securing new business opportunities
  • Developing and delivering sales presentations and product demonstrations
  • Working with the National Sales Manager on sales strategies
  • Preparing quotations, tenders, and proposals
  • Staying informed on market trends and competitors
  • Attending industry events and trade shows
  • Providing sales forecasts and activity reports

The ideal applicant will have experience as a House Builder Area Sales Manager for Timber and Joinery, with:

  • Experience selling to or working for builders merchants
  • Open to all building product backgrounds
  • Knowledge of joinery, timber, construction, or windows (advantageous)
  • Experience in merchant branches seeking first field sales role
  • Proven new business development skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and results-driven
  • Established network in construction or building materials industry (desirable)
  • Experience with sales presentations and proposals
  • Knowledge of building regulations and standards
