Job Description:

The Specification Sales Manager for Roofing and Waterproofing Systems will be responsible for:

  • Field sales of liquid roofing systems, waterproofing, insulation, roof lights, edge trims, and VCL (vapour control layer).
  • Gaining specifications primarily with building surveyors, and also with architects, health authorities, education, and other major specifiers.
  • Engaging with waterproofing and roofing sub-contractors to ensure project success.
  • Targeting a first-year sales threshold of approximately £300,000, with a longer-term target of around £1.3 million.
  • Maximizing profit through effective pricing and discount management.

Clients include local authorities, retailers, manufacturers, and large residential projects. The role covers the North East & Yorkshire and Midlands regions. The remuneration package includes a salary of £50,000-£65,000 plus uncapped commission of £30,000-£40,000, a fully expensed hybrid car, and comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Field sales experience with building surveyors.
  • Ability to write specifications and conduct CPD seminars.
  • Experience with various product backgrounds such as concrete repairs, flooring, waterproofing, and roofing systems.
  • Technical capability and existing contacts with building surveyors and architects.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, confidence in solution selling, and the ability to up-sell.
  • No more than 3 jobs in the last 6 years unless justified.
