Area Sales Manager – Roofing Plastic and GRP

Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Roofing Plastic and GRP

Industry Sector: Glass Reinforced Plastic, GRP, Pre-Fabricated Building Products, Door Canopies, Dormer and Bay Window Roofs, Chimneys, Guttering, Cills & Window Heads, Roof Towers and Housebuilders

Areas to be covered: Midlands & North – based Midlands

Remuneration: £45,000-£50,000 + 10% Bonus

The role of the Area Sales Manager Roofing Plastics and GRP will involve:

  1. Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of GRP/ pre-fabricated plastic building systems.
  2. Selling into National and regional housebuilders.
  3. Managing a large area including the South of England, including South Wales.
  4. Revenue responsibility for circa £15m, area currently performing in line with budget expectations.
  5. Initially 70% account management role, migrating to 50% account management and 50% new business over time (hundreds of housebuilder customers on both areas).
  6. Typical project sizes between £50,000-£150,000 but can be larger.
  7. Quoting £650,000-£700,000 of business per week (approx. 100 quotes).
  8. Typically 2 quality re-arranged meetings per day and a drop-in (in addition to virtual meetings).

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Roofing Plastics and GRP with:

  1. Proven field sales track record in selling any building product into housebuilders.
  2. Open to field sales experience selling into builders merchants if sold a related/associated product such as composite windows & doors, guttering, cornice, chimneys, canopies, roofing systems or any associated GRP products.
  3. Ideally with some technical capability/knowledge of roofing systems.
  4. Well presented.
  5. Hungry and looking for a career.
  6. Ability to learn the USP’s of our clients range of GRP products.
  7. Understanding of Plastic building systems.
  8. Contacts within national House Builders is not essential but may prove useful.
  9. Stable career background, no job hoppers.
