About the Role
My client is seeking a highly motivated Area Sales Manager to drive sales growth and develop strong customer relationships across the Northern Home Counties / East Anglia Region. This role involves managing sales of roofing products through the Merchant channels and clients include SIG Roofing, Rinus Roofing, Jewson, Buildbase, Huws Gray etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management:
    • Manage sales for existing and potential customers, including National & independent merchants, contractors, and buying group members.
    • Maintain and develop relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
    • Utilise industry resources, such as Glenigan leads, to support customer opportunities and back-selling contracts.
  • Business Development:
    • Target and convert prospective customers in collaboration with the sales team.
    • Promote professional training programs to contractors and trade members.
  • Submit daily sales reports and maintain up-to-date plans using CRM tools.
  • Ensure all accounts in the territory are properly logged and updated within CRM and Glenigan systems.

Targets and Expectations

  • Achieve sales and margin targets across product categories.
  • Conduct a minimum of 6 customer visits and 6 planned phone calls daily, logging activity via CRM updates.
  • Create and execute structured call plans to align with internal sales strategies.

  • Proven experience in sales within the construction or roofing industry.
  • Experience selling through Merchants.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
