Job summary

AMB Recruitment Group is helping a long-established UK designer, manufacturer and installer of outdoor play equipment find an Area Sales Manager for the Midlands and East. This field-based role covers schools, councils, housing developers and leisure operators, with in-house design, sales support and marketing backing you.

You will manage a wide patch, win new business and grow existing accounts, visit sites to present designs, keep the diary and CRM up to date, and report to the Head of Field

Qualifications

• Proven field sales experience with a track record of hitting or beating targets.
• Experience selling to schools, councils, housebuilders or landscape architects.
• Confident building rapport with a wide range of customers.
• Organised, self-motivated and able to manage a large territory.
• Based centrally to the patch, with a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow sales across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Suffolk, Warwickshire and parts of north-east London.
• Sell to a balanced mix of schools and nurseries, local authorities and parish councils, and housing developers, plus holiday parks, pubs and leisure operators.
• Win new business while developing existing customer relationships.
• Work with landscape architects and developers to get specified early on new-build schemes.
• Visit sites, present designs and proposals, and guide customers through to order.
• Plan your own diary and pipeline, and keep the CRM up to date.
• Report to the Head of Field Sales.

Field-based | Ideally Huntingdon, St Neots, Cambourne or Peterborough

£37,000 – £44,200 basic | Realistic Year 1 OTE £47k–£54k | Established ASMs earning £30k+ commission

Our client is a long-established UK designer, manufacturer and installer of outdoor play equipment. It’s family-run, makes everything in its own UK factory, and supplies schools, councils and developers across the UK and in over 50 countries.

They’re looking for an Area Sales Manager for their Midlands and East territory. It’s a varied, consultative field sales role: you’ll work with customers from first conversation through to design and a finished playground, with in-house design, sales support and marketing behind you.

The role:

• Manage and grow sales across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Suffolk, Warwickshire and parts of north-east London
• Sell to a balanced mix of schools and nurseries, local authorities and parish councils, and housing developers, plus holiday parks, pubs and leisure operators

About you:

• Proven field sales experience with a track record of hitting or beating targets (awards, figures or appraisals you can show us)
• Experience selling to schools, councils, housebuilders or landscape architects. This could be play equipment, outdoor gym, street furniture, canopies, surfacing or similar.
• Confident building rapport and presenting to a wide range of customers
• Organised, self-motivated and comfortable managing a large territory
• Based centrally to the patch, with a full, clean UK driving licence

The package:

• £37,000 – £44,200 basic, depending on experience
• Uncapped commission: around £10k is realistic in Year 1, and established ASMs are earning £30k+
