Job description

Company Car (EV/Hybrid), Phone, Laptop, 25 Days Holiday, Pension + Additional Benefits

Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a field-based Area Sales Manager to join a market-leading construction materials manufacturer within their specialist hard landscaping division. The role is focused on selling a comprehensive range of high-performance materials – including bedding mortars, jointing solutions, priming slurries and ancillaries – all used across public realm, commercial and urban regeneration projects.

Your week will be spent primarily in the field (4 days), with customer visits split across:

  • Heavy and specialist merchants (e.g. national, independent, and specialist distributors)
  • Landscaping contractors and applicators
  • Landscape architects and specifiers (circa 20%)

You’ll manage product training, branch support, customer incentives, site demonstrations, and specification follow-through, while tracking purchasing trends and converting leads. This role is part of a well-supported regional sales team, with strong internal resources and technical back-up.

Company

This business is an established, award-winning manufacturer with a strong UK presence and a global export footprint. Known for innovation and customer service, they manufacture materials for use in highways, tiling, commercial interiors, public realm landscaping, and internal finishes. Products are sold via a trusted merchant and distributor network, and they are a preferred supplier on a wide range of high-spec projects.

You’ll be joining a highly credible, supportive team within a brand that is well-known in the market – with strong technical resources, robust marketing, and a growing pipeline of projects.

Person

We’re looking for a confident, commercially focused sales professional with experience in the construction materials sector – ideally from a heavyside, building products or landscaping background. You should be:

  • Comfortable on site in full PPE, engaging contractors and end-users
  • Capable of building strong branch relationships and influencing spend
  • Confident delivering CPDs and product demonstrations
  • A natural “trader” – someone who spots opportunities and maximises them

Experience selling into merchants, working with contractors, or generating demand through specification is ideal. Landscaping product experience is a bonus but not essential.

This role suits someone hands-on, enthusiastic, and target-driven – looking to grow within a supportive and reputable organisation.
