Area Sales Manager (Industrial Coatings)

Bristol (Covering the South West/Midlands)

£40,000 (OTE YR1: £45,000 - £50,000) + training + excellent progression + commission + car allowance + 25 days holiday

Are you an Area Sales Manager from a Chemical / Coatings background, looking to rapidly progress your career with an ambitious organisation, in a fully autonomous role with clear progression pathways?

Do you want to join a highly reputable manufacturer, supplying major players in several global engineering markets, including Aerospace and Defence, which will recognise and reward your expertise with generous commission and excellent development opportunities?

On offer is the opportunity to join a market-leading manufacturer which develops cutting-edge, high-performance industrial paints, coatings and metal pretreatment products. Established nearly 100 years ago, the company has gone from strength to strength.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Managing key accounts; maintaining and developing relationships and promoting the company's products and services.
  2. Sourcing and on-boarding new clients, securing and winning new business for the company.
  3. Meeting with existing clients face to face, completing appraisals, with the objective of creating long-term business relationships.
  4. Planning your diary; booking in meetings with existing and potential clients.
  5. Sourcing new business within the North, across a varied range of industries and sectors.
  6. Completing product trials with clients, working closely with the technical team to provide the most relevant product information.
  7. Attending trade shows, exhibitions and networking events to drive new business activities.
  8. Preparing and presenting proposals for new and existing clients.

The person:
  1. Area Sales Manager or similar experience.
  2. Technical / Engineering background, ideally with any understanding or knowledge of the industrial paint / coatings industry or similar (chemicals, lubricants etc).
  3. Based anywhere in the South West of England. Happy to travel to client sites 3 days a week, with some overnight stays.
