AREA SALES MANAGER – CAPITAL EQUIPMENT | EDINBURGH / CENTRAL BELT | INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY SECTOR

With a rich heritage and strong presence across the UK and Ireland, our client is a trusted name in supplying high-performance machinery to sectors including recycling, construction, scrap metal, demolition, quarrying, energy, and ports.

We’re now seeking an Area Sales Manager to join their growing commercial team, focusing on the Edinburgh / Central Belt region.

The Role

As an Area Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving both new business growth and account development across the Central Belt. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Selling and hiring the full range of mechanical handling and processing machinery
  • Providing tailored technical solutions to meet customer needs
  • Managing the full sales cycle – from cold outreach to closing deals and aftercare
  • Preparing accurate and timely quotations
  • Offering on-site technical support and advice
  • Keeping up-to-date with competitor activity to maintain a strong market position
The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven success in capital equipment sales (shredders, crushers, screeners, chippers, etc.)
  • Industry experience in waste, recycling, construction, or related sectors
  • Familiarity with OEMs or main dealer operations
  • Strong cold calling and new business development skills
  • Technical mindset with the ability to assess customer needs and provide customized solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects
  • Autonomous self-starter with effective schedule management
  • Deep regional knowledge and network within the designated territory
