Job Title: Area Sales Manager Bathrooms and Showers

Industry Sector: Plumbers Merchants, Independent Bathroom specialists, Independent Retailers, Bathroom Showrooms, Merchants and DIY Stores

Area to be covered: North East & Yorkshire + CA & LA postcodes

Postcodes: NE, DH, SR, TS, DL, YO, HU, HG, JS, WF, HX, HD, CA & LA

Remuneration: £38,000-£45,000 + 20% Bonus

Benefits: £500 per month car allowance or hybrid car & full benefits

Role Overview

The Area Sales Manager Bathrooms and Showers will involve:

  1. Field sales promoting taps, showers, accessories for bathrooms and kitchens
  2. 90% of time selling into independent bathroom specialists, retailers & showrooms
  3. A small portion of time attempting to win specifications with small housebuilders, local authorities, housing associations, architects, and interior designers
  4. Managing an inherited area performing well against budget
  5. Responsible for circa 400-500 retail showroom customers, with 80% of revenue from the top 120 customers
  6. Focus on 30% new business development and 70% account management
  7. Initial responsibility for approximately £1.8m
  8. Implementing a 12-week visit plan based on customer value
  9. Typically 4 days on the road and 1 day administrative work from home
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven field sales experience
  • Experience selling into plumbers merchants (current employment in a plumbers merchant is considered)
  • Strong account management skills and relationship-building ability
  • Ambitious, dynamic, and hardworking personality
  • Knowledge of showers, bathrooms, brassware, tapware, sanitaryware (preferred)
  • Ability to develop a structured journey plan
  • Autonomous, driven self-starter
