Job description

Area Sales Manager / Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager required to join a leading global Mechanical Engineering Manufacturer.

The successful candidate will focus on developing new business opportunities and managing key accounts for mechanical handling equipment such as conveyors, chains, sprockets, valves, lubrication, and similar products/systems across the Southwest and Southeast of the UK, including London.

The ideal candidate will have experience selling mechanical handling products or technical mechanical engineering solutions, preferably within manufacturing, food, biomass waste, power generation, or related industries.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities and manage key accounts for mechanical handling equipment.
  • Maintain sales through demonstrations, exhibitions, and negotiations to meet targets.
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and end-to-end solutions for customer requirements.
  • Offer after-sales support and technical backup across various industries such as construction, mining, manufacturing, food, biomass waste, and power generation.
  • Work remotely across the Southwest and Southeast UK, including London, with regular site visits.
  • Liaise with engineering departments.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience as a Key Account Manager, Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, or similar within a mechanical engineering environment.
  • Experience selling or managing key accounts for mechanical handling equipment is highly desirable.
  • Proven sales experience in industries like construction, mining, manufacturing, food, biomass waste, or power generation.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Willingness to operate remotely and travel across the South UK, including London.
