SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products.


We are currently looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager , who will be responsible for developing a customer focussed territory business plan within a defined geographical region, considering growth targets for existing customers, increasing Opco brand awareness, managing customer prospects in line with new business targets, and working closely with the Regional Sales Manager and Internal Sales Team.


What does the role involve?
As Area Sales Manager you will drive profitability of the Opco and the wider Building Solutions community, develop lapsed accounts where appropriate, and manage and maintain live opportunities with a view to converting to orders and reporting all information back on Sage. You will also maintain existing strong relationships within our market sector while also developing new relationships with contractors operating within the roofing, cladding and industrial and agricultural sector.

The successful candidate will also be required to attend regular sales meeting, develop both a weekly RSM Reporting Pack and a monthly RSM Territory Business Plan, and complete all weekly and monthly reporting to be accurately and on time.

The successful candidate will require:
• Strong experience and background in sales - Industry knowledge preferred
• Ability to build & maintain key relationships customers & suppliers
• Understanding market trends and the ability to articulate the drivers.
• Ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders
• Commercially aware – understands financial and profit model
• Confident decision maker with strong negotiation skills
• Effective communicator and presenter – verbal and written, succinct and persuasive
• Ability to see issues from customers’ perspective, engages customers
• Full driving licence
• Strong skills – Microsoft Office
• Sage knowledge would be beneficial, training will be provided
