Job summary

Barco Sales is seeking an ambitious Area Sales Manager to own the South London and South territory, driving growth in plumbing and heating products. You will manage 200+ active accounts, develop relationships with decision-makers, and expand product penetration while leveraging our portal and support from a proactive internal team.

A company car and bonus package are included. The role offers a competitive base (£40,000–£45,000) plus a profit-target bonus (£10,000+), and a full-time permanent

Qualifications

• Proven field sales or account management experience.
• Experience in the plumbing and heating market preferred.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

South and South East Field based
£40,000 to £45,000 basic, £10,000+ profit target bonus, company car

Territory: DT, SP, BH, SO, PO, GU, BN, RH, KT, SM, CR, TN, ME, CT, DA, BR and SE postcode areas.

Barco Sales is an established independent plumbing and heating distributor with over 40 years of industry experience. Supplying customers nationwide from a central distribution location, we offer an extensive product portfolio, next-working-day delivery, and a customer-first approach that has helped build lasting partnerships across the industry with both customers and key manufacturers.

The Opportunity

We re looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Area Sales Manager to take ownership of an established territory covering the South London and the South.

With more than 200 active accounts already trading, this role offers significant potential to grow sales and profitability by developing existing customer relationships, increasing product penetration and identifying new business opportunities.

Supported by an industry-leading customer portal, extensive product range, proactive internal sales team and comprehensive manufacturer training, with ongoing guidance from an experienced Sales Director.

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing and developing an established customer base across your territory.
• Growing sales and profitability through both account development and new business acquisition.
• Identifying opportunities to increase customer spend across our extensive product range.
• Building strong relationships with customers, including key decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Planning and managing your own diary to maximise customer contact and sales opportunities.
• Maintaining a healthy pipeline and progressing opportunities through to completion.
• Using CRM and account data to effectively prioritise activity and identify growth opportunities.
• Negotiating profitable business while delivering excellent customer service.
• Acting as a professional ambassador for the Barco brand.

What We re Looking For

You may already be working in an external sales role, or perhaps you're currently in merchant management or internal sales and looking to take the next step into field sales.

• Proven field sales, area sales, account management or business development experience.
• Experience within the plumbing and heating market is strongly preferred.
• A proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and a clear focus on profitable growth.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across a varied customer base.
• Someone with integrity, perseverance, indomitable spirit and a drive to be the best.
• A proactive, resilient and results-driven approach with the confidence to work independently.
• Strong planning, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy regional territory.
• Comfortable using CRM and reporting tools to manage activity, pipeline and account performance.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-moving commercial environment.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.

Your package

£40,000 to £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
£10,000+ bonus linked to profit target, with a realistic opportunity to achieve the full amount.
